Boring People.

vladdt 3 years 4 months ago Posts: 355	I live in San Diego, California and I know a small handful of people (the ones I actually see/talk to, face to face etc.) that I enjoy being around; people who have the same interests/tastes in literature, art, music, movies, philosophy etc.; or, in some cases, different interests/tastes, but they're ok to be around, and they're civil. I am grateful for this small handful, no doubt. Though, I still feel pretty damn bored in San Diego, the Chairman of the Bored, as Iggy Pop put it. I know I am overgeneralizing, to some extent, but to me it seems all the, majority, of people in this town care about is (to me, at least) boring, banal, trivial crap: football, beer, the shopping mall, American Idol, going to the beach, action movies where things explode every 10 minutes...BLAH BLAH BLAH, WHO CARES!? Well, there's my two cents.

bassman21 3 years 4 months ago Posts: 12786	I find most people that I know boring. One thing that bothers me is they tell me about all of this stuff they do when I'm not around. When I hang around them they don't want to do anything except go to some bar or club. How about bowling, pool, fishing, hiking, camping, exploring or just about anything else. I can't even get them to go to the movies half the time. Sometimes they will even sell out. I'm down to do just about anything, but all people want to do is drink and/or smoke weed. Then when I'm not around they have all of these adventures. Fuck them all!

vladdt 3 years 4 months ago Posts: 355	Yep, that's a big problem for me too: "I dunno, wanna drink....I've got some weed...." Boring as all Hell. Out of that small handful I mentioned previously, only Two, count 'em Two, share my MAIN interests, and, the others, usually, suggest Drinking or Smoking as a way to pass the time. As a result, I just about never call, "the others", they call me. A lot of the time I just blow them off or make an excuse.

bassman21 3 years 4 months ago Posts: 12786	I think one reason people avoid me in their adventures is because I'm the voice of reasoning. I know that might sound like I'm boring, but people tend to get into trouble when I'm NOT around. I guess that is where the stupid and ignorant comes in. Once they have a long term relationship with someone then they become insipid and vapid. As for being materialistic I sometimes wish they were because then maybe they would have more drive to get somewhere in life and would have money to go out. Really I'm open to do just about anything (within reason) as long as it isn't something that can get me put in jail or damage my body.

Plus I have quite a sadistic sense of humour, yet my friends find that to be too offensive and change the subject, also they only invite me out if they need weed, pills, smokes or alcohol not because they enjoy my company.
