    		 Not sure how I feel about this. Using excessive cgi would defeat the purpose IMO. I'd also want to see Frank Oz directing.

    		 I don't think I'd be ok with cgi backgrounds either. With movies like DC, those fantastic sets are part of the magic. Its like if they actually made Goonies 2, it just wouldn't be the same with cgi backgrounds. Knowing that the outstanding sets that I am seeing were actually real at somepoint and that the characters were actually interacting with them means alot with movies like that.

    		 Not sure how i feel about that either.... the realistic puppetry is what made the original so cool.... making it CGI i feel it won't have the same visual effect.

    I still love the original :-D

    		 I tend to agree with the idea that CG is just not the same as the good ol' Jim Henson puppetry. I personally see CG effects as being a bit overused lately. Not that I don't like it, it's just that it's really easy to tell now what's CG'd into the movie and what's real, and it's kinda distracting. I was dissapointed when I saw Spiderman and noticed that only about 1 or 2 of the fightscenes were real and the rest were all CG. I don't know, it just takes from the coolness of a fight scene when you can tell that it's not real at all.

    I will definately see this movie, but if they aren't using puppetry then it'll seem like a completely different movie instead of an actual sequel, at least to me it will.

    Which reminds me, I should watch this sometime this weekend. I still have it on VHS :)

    anyway, 3D CG animation is really cool in all, but I prefer to also see the use of other mediums that are still cool when appropriate, like 2D animation, Claymation, puppetry, and stunt doubles.

    		 If they do a sequel with CGI they might as well just make the new movie an animated movie then maybe I could accept it. But if they are gonna do it live action but with CGI it does totally ruin the point. It's magic cause it was muppets, otherwise just do a cartoon spin off if your gonna waste talent like that.

    		 It doesn't matter to me if the sequel is done with CG or Puppets just as long as the story is good. What I liked most about The Dark Crystal are the creatures and landscapes.

    		 Just read that Genndy Tartakovsky(the guy who did Samarai Jack and Clone Wars) is going to be directing this. It might have a chance to be decent afterall.

    		 Nice to see they didn't abadon the idea. I'm mixed on the CG part of it though. I think a CG realistic type movie (Non Pixar/Dreamworks) would be really interesting, But I also remember how badly that Final Fantasy movie failed. :?

    		 I glanced at the lab. manga, it didn't have very good art :( otherwise I would've been all over it. So slightly more back on topic, has anyone heard anything new about this dark crystal sequel? Its been a while since I've heard anything about it
