Gas vs electric house

We have natural gas here in the south in many homes. I know some of you use oil for heating up north which is costly. I have a gas stove, clothes dryer, water heater and furnace. Gas is cheaper, more efficient, dries my clothes faster, heats water faster and is better for cooking. Also if you have a gas home you can get a gas fireplace, gas grill for outside and a gas light. Finally you can cook and heat your water during a power outage and power most gas appliances with a small generator. Natural gas is awesome as long as you have a carbon monoxide and gas leak detector just in case. Anyone disagree and why?

Gas is nice and efficient but I've seen one too many homes explode due to leaks. Plus I like the feel, smell, and experience of burning a real fire in the fireplace. And with the new wood furnaces on the market you can also provide all the heat for you water needs. Hopefully when I build my next home it will be a combination of electric, solar and wood.

My house is mostly gas. We have a gas stove, furnace, and hot water heater, but electric dryer and wood fireplace. Having hot water and a stove in power outages is really nice.
