Are animals self-aware?

    		 I just recently watched "The Cove" which is about protecting dolphins from being killed and one of the main arguments was that dolphins are intelligent and aware of their own existence.

    Flipper a.k.a. Cathy was able to identify which dolphin was her on the tv screen. Also, dolphins can recognize themselves in mirrors.

    What do u all think?
