What is it gonna take for NBC to realize the SNL is not what it used to be? The show doesn't even generate one real funny moment anymore and hasn't for years. What began as a milestone in television has now become utter trash of our culture. I really miss the 90's back when the show was really funny and it was a big deal for me to stay up to watch the show and see Wayne's World and Matt Foley skits. Now there are no real characters on the show, only cast members trying to come up with goofy laughless bits. Sure I could change the channel and watch something different I know it's just it seems that it is very much a waste that talent has become so utterly poor in the world of entertainment that we have to be subjected to television that is stale and without any real flavor. Oh well, SNL could just be in a slump like it was in the early 80's following the departure of Bill Murray. During this time, two unknown stars-Eddie Murphy and Joe Piscopo saved the show from cancellation. Hopefully there will be someone out there that can do that again-it wouldn't take much seeing that the cast of idiots they have now have no talent at all.

I don't wanna sound old but some of the guest hosts they have lately I've never even heard of. It's pretty bad when all they can get is the kid from Angels in the Outfield. Last week it was this chick named January Jones. Who the hell is that? She said she is on Mad Men, so I guess the five people in the world that watch that show knows who she is. There was one remotely funny bit involving fart jokes but come on are the writers for SNL now ten years old? I used to switch to Mad TV but I think that's been canceled already. Man how I long for TV to go back to being good. I watched an old episode of Salute Your Shorts today on Youtube and it was better than everything I'd seen on TV the entire week!

I guess as long as SNL keeps talking about current events, NBC is going to keep airing it.

it will never be cancelled. it is an american staple. 60 Minutes is still on....as will SNL persevere. at least until the year 2012 when Jon Cusack will save us all from the end of civilization. then and only then, will SNL cease to exist.

Things went down hill after Dana Carvey left. And Mike Meyers. And Kevin Nealon. I just stopped watching after that. Right around 1996 or so.

Made a promise to myself that I would stop watching SNL when I stopped laughing. OK, I stopped laughing a while ago, so I haven't seen SNL in years.

Actually I'm shocked that the show is still on the air.

Guess I must be in the minority, then...because I tend to think SNL is hilarious most nights. It could be that you just don't "get it" anymore (some people complained this during the Dana Carvey/Mike Myers era...because the focus was more toward a younger crowd).

I mean, if that's the case, then it's okay. It's just not your cup of tea. Doesn't mean the show sucks, though.

MadTV probably is cancelled, I never see ads for it, or even hear about it anymore, which sucks because that was one of the last good variety shows.

MadTV IS Canceled. And I think SNL is in transition. The only girl on there is Kristen Wigg with her characters....

This isn't new. Saturday Night Live has been awful since they stopped showing those Celebrity Jeopardy sketches.
