Computer boot-up problem.

    Okay, I finished using my computer at about 2am last night, when I got up this morning to use it, it apparently shut down. I don't know if this was for an update or what happened since I was asleep. Now when I try to reboot it back up it goes to start up like it wants to go the user select screen to get onto windows, but before it does the computer itself, shuts off automatically. I've tried with it many times with no luck. You can start it in Safe Mode (but not safemode with networking, it will shut off) ,safe mode is the only option it where it won't shut off before it finishes loading. I have plans to take it to the computer guy to look at it tomorrow, but does anyone here have any thoughts or suggestions about this issue? I am writing this from my laptop btw.

    Thanks!

    Odd. It boots up fine and everything, and it's only at the user-select screen that it just inexplicably shuts down? Might be malware or virus, but I would probably try doing a System Restore to a previous point and see if that works.
assert ( !give_you_up); assert( !let_you_down); assert( !run_around); assert( !desert_you );
It doesn't even get as far as the user select before if shuts off, it goes off just a little before that point. I have already gone into system restore with Safe Mode and set it back to two days before, which didn't do anything, and again to a month, and still no luck, but Thanks.

    It does yes, and about 2 years, same as the computer.

    Okay I just got my computer back today, and it was the power supply unit that went bad, so the computer guy installed a new one for me.
