Wow, pennies? There was a lady around my neighborhood who used to give out quarters and dollar bills when I was a kid. One of my cousins used to keep changing masks so that he could go back multiple times.

At least your cousin was smart enough to change costumes. Where I use to live we didn't give out money or anything, but my mooching neighbors would come back to my house for more candy in the same costume!

I didn't care if I got a bag chips or cookies or even Halloween novelty items.

The worst things I got were:
    Chinese candy
    Mexican candy especially Tomy candy
Strawberry hard candy (that candy that had a wrapper that looks like a strawberry)
    granola bars
    Hanukkah cookies
old chocolate candy that turned white
2 big white marshmallows in a plastic bag (seriously what were my neighbors thinking)
    Walnuts in the shell

Ewww old chocolate. Geez I think those people were probably trying to save themselves the hassle of throwing it out.

Never had Chinese candy or Mexican candy or Hanukkah cookies. I'm also lost on the "chocolate candy that turns white". Never seen that before. Never received marshmallows or walnuts either.

Anywho, the other stuff you mentioned I've gotten. Ironically, they're all things I like. As you can see, I'm not too picky about what type of stuff I got for Halloween. Could've been an apple or a candied apple. I liked both, so I was going to eat it. lol As for the strawberry candy you mentioned, that's one of my favorites. lol

in the philippines, it isn't always a treat. I was that kinda guy who prefered imported brand confections. most of the houses gave mints, melon drops, and those dang marshmallow twisty things. i hated those. also they were always skimpy and times were tough kinda, but it wasnt TOO bad.

Oh, I thought he was making AVGN refrence.

Oh, I got something much worse than black licorice.
Ever heard of Necco Wafers? I've never heard of a kid that likes these.
Founded in 1847, Necco is one of America's oldest, continously branded candies.
They come in 8 delicious flavors:
lemon, orange, lime, cinnamon, wintergreen, chocolate, licorice and clove. Yes, clove!

As much as I liked licorice, I still hated getting Good N Plenty. I also hate anything with peanuts. I always swapped for other things. I also never ate Milk Duds.

Black Licorice AND Necco wafers are good.

Two bits of trivia for everyone:

    1. Necco = New England Confectionary Company, also the creator of candy hearts
    2. If you haven't tried the wafers recently, they are switching to all-natural flavors, which will make them more vibrant. Now's a good time to give them another chance.

    Let's See:
    1. Whoppers (I hate the taste of them)
    2. Milk Duds
    3. Good N Plenty's
    4. Pennies
    5. Toothbrush and Dental Floss
    Never underestimate your own abilities.
