At least then we could still hang out at recess. That bussing crap is so stupid and makes the switch to a new school all the harder. They have done away with most of it around here. This means a set of elementary schools are feeder schools for the particular middle school and a set of middle schools are feeder schools for a particular high school. They are always changing the bounties to keep the student population balanced. So some kids get stuck going to a different school, but most kids go to the same set of schools from K-12th. Bussing worked well for me though as I went to a nicer middle school than the one that was closest to me. Unfortunately I left behind most of my peers when I went to high school as most went to the high school closest to that middle school. I got stuck with all the bad kids from the middle school next door to my high school. Most of them lived in the run down apartments near the school.
