Why is soccer irrelevant in America?

The last even remotely interesting thing I remember about soccer was in 1999 when Mia Hamm ripped her shirt off. There's also David Beckam who's appeared on Sesame Street. Go Soccer!

Because its as boring as watching golf and there is no contact. It takes them all day just to move up the field and the nets are so big how can they not make a goal.

The reason I believe is that its too cheap. Americans are so into spending money on everything and sports is no exception. Its like this what do you need for soccer a ball? maybe some cleats? Hockey and football hell of equipment. Baseball still more than soccer. The only exception is basketball. And also baseball was based off of rounders in someway. But hockey was from Canada close enough for America and football and basketball pretty much was created here in The US. But I think many Americans view soccer as a poor mans sport. Like its beneath them. Me I love soccer. Heck one of my fav things to do is play Frisbee.

^ Nah, Basketball and Soccer are both poor men's sports, and I gotta love both. Soccer's my third favorite sport, behind Football and Hockey. Basketball and Baseball are too individual for me...not enough teamwork, too much showboating in B-ball.
    Oh yeah?

Its true too. Americans don't care about soccer since they don't have to spend alot of money. Its like its not worth anything because I can't spend alot on it. I gotta have my new shoes or car even if I don't like it cause it cost alot of money.
