Then don't ever watch Killer Klowns From Outer Space then. That movie will make you afraid of clowns if you weren't afraid of them before.

Being a kid in the 80s I had the standard fear of Nuclear war. I had watched the Nostradamus (aka: Nostrel Dumbass) documentary The Man Who Saw Tomorrow and it really freaked me out. They said that World War 3 was supposed to start in 1996 and it was going to be all-out nuclear holocaust. So for years I was convinced that I wouldn't live past my early 20s since, after all, the world was gonna end in firey radioactive destruction.

Of course since then I've learned that Nostradamus' writings are all crap....also, that nuclear war never happened, so....

I was afraid of the basement and the attic. And of course the Boogeyman in the closet. My parents thought that I was afraid of the dark, but the dark never bothered me. It was the monsters in the dark that freaked me out.

    I guess I had a overstimulated imagination.

When I was 5 I broke my little Tiger handheld Batman game (the screen was cracked), and my sister said that if I ever played it again the Joker would come out and attack me.

That's such a mean thign to do to a kid...

My dad bought those stupid books.

I was afraid of Santa, but the one Santa I was really afraid of was one from the 1-900 number commericals. And my cousins told me they had this "friend" who would beat me up if I didn't be queit and go to sleep when they babysat me.

Scared of that robot sequence in Superman 3. Oh yes. Even now.

When incredibly young, there was a He-Man episode where he got caught in some sort of energy ring, couldn't escape and almost got defeated. That too also scared me for some reason.

I wonder if that's why some people develop a thing for bondage?

Darkness, spiders, you know the usual stuff and some not so usual stuff...

That little animated janitor guy from the Bloopers and Practical Jokes show (I always thought that guy was out to get me at night)

The Horror aisle at the video store (I was piss scared of that aisle, which brings me to...)

THE GHOULIES (once at the video store, they had that promotional blow up toilet for Ghoulies 2. That thing scared the living shit out of me. I swear for years after I would always check the toilet before even unzipping.)

I still have most of the fears that I had as a kid, except that I was afraid of the dark, and now I NEED complete darkness to sleep.

I HATE driving on a bridge over water - I always feel that it's gonna collapse and I'll drown in the car.

Also, my Aunt let me watch the movie DOLLS when I was a kid (about 6/7) and I've never been the same since. I know it's not gonna happen, but the thought that those beady-eyed little buggers could come to life and kill me...*shudders* I still sorta shriek when I'm walking down an aisle in the store and they have dolls on the top shelf. Embaressing, but...UGH!

Darkness, being alone at night, the typical stuff when I was small. But here's some goods that used to scare the **** outta me.

    - Their was this Care Bears cartoon special thing and it had this phantom guy from the opera house that terrorized the other's care bears. The way he looked scared the **** outta me. I couldn't sleep at night sometimes just because of it. Jeez, whoever those guys are that did the special, should have been helping Child's Play. (And IMO, Scream would have been better w/ this guy costume)

    - I too, disliked going to the Horror aisle at the video rental store.

    - Thunderstorms that when the lighting struck so loud, your ears would pop. And we got plenty of those in east Texas. I would jump near my parents bed, whenever one hit late at night.

    - My bro used to be a NES freak and some of the games had creepy 8-bit music, that I would shudder at. Like the cave music that plays in DW, and some bits of the battle theme in FF.

Funny, I used to get scared real easy, and now im hardly afarid of anything anymore (except driving over water).

I was freaked out by these chain-rattling sinisterly-giggling green ghosts on an episode of Scooby-Doo.

Anyone remember crash dummies (the ones that were around between 90-91)?

At first I was too scared to press the button on my action figure and watch him blow up. :)

Not to mention going up and down ladders, but I'm slowly (but surely) getting over that.

I used to be afraid that during the night, a flying green skeleton wearing a dark robe would crash through my window.

Also, I've always been afraid of deep-sea tentacled monsters like Giant Squid. I would never be caught dead going into the pitch-black waters of the ocean at night.
