    Good early song but a little too much bubble gum for me. I like their later works when they started writing for themselves and not for the thirteen year old girls. I did enjoy John Lennon' harmonica in Love Me Do, though.

    I think it's not one of the better early Beatles songs, I prefer the follow up single, Please Please Me. Love Me Do was not a number 1 single on it's initial release, it only got to number 1 upon it's 1964 reissue. The one version I do kind of like is the version with Pete Best on drums that's on Anthology 1, he plays way the song far jazzier than the single version with Ringo on drums or the Please Please Me album version with Andy White on drums.
