the smell of certain perfumes instantly take me back to my first girlfriend's bedroom.

opening a mcdonalds toy bag makes me think of my grandmother who used to buy them for me.

the smell of halloween masks makes me think of the drug store by my elementary that sold them, which makes me think of the popular Freddy Kruger costumes that were out back then.

    The smell of....
    New water hose.
    New clothes and shoes
My dads uniforms after they came from the dry cleaner
My elementary school cafeteria. The meal of the day mixed with chocolate milk.
    New carpet
Pine O Pine and other cleaners popular in the 70s and 80s.
News cars from the 70s and 80s. They smell different now.
Other people's house. Everyone's smells a little different.
The smell of my high school. The wings built in 1956, 1970 and 1973 all smelled differently.
The church I went to. Smelled kinda like baby wipes.
    The store by my house

A lot of these smells can't be described. Every once in awhile I'll come across these smells and I get very nostalgic.

    Okay, The smell of:

A certain Barbie (it was my sister's) I believe she was a ballerina or possibly a part goer barbie, I don't know. (it had a lovely pink dress) She had an amazing scent to her & if I were to smell that again today, Happiness is what would come to mind. I can't find a picture of her but if I find her, I will take a picture! lol

Super Elastic Bubble Plastic (( Yes you can find it today still)) I played with it a few years back lol but that smell... ahhh!! Brings back memories! =)

SCENT is the STRONGEST SENSE tied to memory!!

Gear oil always reminds me of going to the amusement park for the school picnic when I was a kid. It also reminds me of getting excited because the school picnic meant summer vacation was just around the corner.

The smell of the Play dough and Silly Putty I LOVED to play with as a kid...the smell of countless dusty books in the old library I practically grew up in, in my hometown of Norfolk, VA, that's since been closed down.

    Those are good ones.
I was at the thrift store yesterday and they had TWO erector sets. I didn't get them, since they were incomplete, had no books, and I wouldn't know what to do with them...but I spent a good while checking them out. When I was done, I noticed my hands had that wonderful smell of old and dusty metal.

Machine/gun oil. My grandfather was a master machinist and his basement smelled of machine oil/gun oil. As a hobby he made his own guns. I didn't know any of this as a kid but I remember the smell (now that I have my own guns) and my Dad recently showed me a photo of my grandfather and his buddies in the early 60s holding a 50 cal HANDGUN they'd made in the basement. The guy that lived next door had shipped back a Browning piece by piece from Korea. That's where they got the ammo.

I get that way from the Mcnuggets. But now I can't bring myself to eat them anymore

My favorite smell is old books and comics. Reminds me of digging through boxes at flea markets and comic shops.
