    Anti-art, anti-philosophy, anti-logic.

Somewhat interesting. Any thoughts on it?

I think its interesting when taken in a historical context. It came out of WWI when people were dealing with this new kind of warfare, the likes of which humans have never known.

People were trying to make sense out of the nightmare they were caught in... fighting for somewhat morally ambiguious reasons and people dying en masse from new, frightening weapons like machine guns and mustard gas.

The Dadaists propsed that since all the morality, logic and reason mankind had amassed up to that point brought them to such a terrible reality, it should all be rejected.

Dada produced some interesting artwork. Marcel Duchamp's "LHOOQ" cracked me up, as did his "Urinal".

I think that some of HarryReems and Captain Howdy's posts could classify as dadaist art.
