I have the Gunsmith Cats Bulletproof! DVD and I do have the first volume of the manga. "Anime wise", I wish it could've gotten more than just that three-ep OVA.

I like it, but that's not saying much since this type of genre semi appeals to me. Strong female characters and all that who can fight crime.

The show takes place in Chicago, iirc. The main character, Rally (dark haired one) is a Gunsmith and runs a Gun store or whatever since her father has left. Her mother was murdered, and her father left in pursuit of the murderers.

The blonde, May, is her assistant. They're pretty much bounty hunters on the side and very young. Both are still teens, but I know Rally lies about her age so she can run the gun shop. May is also the youngest of the main three girls. I think she's about two or three years younger than Rally.

Rally is an expert with guns. May is an expert when it comes to explosives. From what I recall, May had a sad life, though her character is usually kind of cheery. I just know at one point, she was forced to live life as a prostitute at a very young age. The main problem, though, is that she may sometimes still use those types of skills to obtain information (manga wise anyway).

The other girl is Becky (although, for that pic, doesn't really look like her; she wears glasses). The money hungry one, she's pretty much friends with those two, and always supplies Rally with information since she seems to know everything. Rally tends to always owe her money. lol

It's not really that strange. Just two young girls who have a side-job of being bounty hunters. The bounty hunting is their main source of income, not the gun shop, for the most part.

Either way, seems most series that have non-Japanese main characters turn out to be favorites for me for some reason.

I've watched the Anime but really couldn't get into the Manga. I did like it when Riding Bean showed up though.

Still sucks that it only got a three-episode OAV when the actual manga went on for about five or six years. Seems with that type of series in general, they could've gotten a lot for an anime series.

I could feel you on that if the characters were not draw in a Japanese style. They usually still have Asian facial features.

I don't really see how, to be completely honest. I mean, look at the style used in general. It was inspired by old Disney cartoons.
