People that should have been President.

American presidential history is riddled with people who had no real business holding the office of President of the United States. Men such as U.S. Grant, Andrew Johnson, and Jimmy Carter immediately spring to mind... so tell me, throughout any point in American history, are there people you feel should have been President, but weren't?

I think Davy Crockett and Benjamin Franklin would have made fine Presidents.

I remember when I was a little kid...I used to think Benjamin Franklin was a president just because he's on the $100 dollar bill.

Pierre-Joseph Proudhon and Murray Rothbard should be added too. Although, I don't think Anarchist Philosophers would be very apt to run for an office.

Also, I wish Leon Trotsky was President instead of Obama if we had to become socialist. If we have to follow Europe and get Socialism, let's get Pure Socialism rather Obama's Post-Lenin Soviet garbage.

    Al Gore.

Hah, just kidding. Seriously, I'd say Arnold Schwarzenegger. Even if he can't be president and I probably spelled his last name wrong.

Robert Kennedy...too bad he died in 1968.

I'd also go for Martin Luther King Jr., he had charisma and was a God-Fearing man and probably win over Richard Nixon in the Primaries...too bad he died the same year RFK did.
