Why we chose our Avatars for Retrojunk

    		 My parents had HBO when I was young. Whenever I saw the flying HBO thing heading towards me whenever a movie started, I used to freak out because I thought since it was moving towards me, it would somehow float out of the TV and attack me. I mentioned this in another post somewhere, but anyway, 15 years later, I taped this intro onto a DVD, played it on Windows Media Player, hit the 'print screen' button, put it in a Microsoft Paint JPG and shrunk it way down to meet the insane maximum of 80x80 pixels.

    		 Because it's the same thing I use everywhere. Except that I had to scale it down a bit and thus remove some details, 100x being the standard and Retrojunk using some strange, non-standard size... :?

    		 I pretty much had my old blue metaur avatar since I signed up, so it was time for a change.

    I like AMD anyway, and resaw this picture as someone's avatar on another board I goto, and was like "why not."

    		 I was looking at this site for old "creepy" sesame street stuff a long time back, so I pulled up this little guy from a screenshot from Sesame Street circa 1970, here's a few pictures of him, he's known as "Beautiful Day Monster", as his debut was during the 60's in a muppet skit on late night TV...

    		 I'm not sure if I posted here yet..well I'm doing it anyway :)

    At first I had Lisa Simpson (my fave Simpson next to Homer), and now I have Jazmine DuBois from The Boondocks :) I'm using the TV show model, not the original comic strip model. I just love her :) Jazmine is a typical young girl. She reminds me of Sally from Peanuts :) I think her character is a sweetheart, that's why I have the pic as my avatar.

    		I chose my avatar because I looove the old Disney show Under the Umbrella Tree. When I was a wee one, 4 and 5, a day could not pass without me being glued to the TV when UTUT came on. I grew up with that show and really fondly remember all the old characters...Gloria, Holly, Iggy, and Jacob.:D

    		 I chose mine because I absolutely love the band Tool and think that their music is some of the best music I have ever heard. First heard them back in the early 1990's while watching Beavis and Butt-Head on MTV. They played the video 'Sober' and I was hooked ever since. I own every album they've put out, every DVD they've put out, and am COMPLETELY psyched that their next album is being released on May 2nd. (Titled "10,000 Days";). Of all their songs, Sober will always be the one that I like the best. My avatar is a screen capture from the video 'Sober'.
