I've recently become a big fan of the original Rubik's but I just discovered there is a new cube called Rubik's Mirror Blocks:

Anyone else had a chance to play around with this thing yet or is it a Japan-only release at the moment?

    Here's a video-review: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=HN8Ej0rc4VU&eurl=http://www.gizmodo.jp/2008/09/post_4362.html

    I'm gonna get one.

It looks pretty neat, but it may very well be Japan only right now, not positive though, First I have heard of it anyways.

Well, I'm gonna buy one ASAP. I've been thinking about how difficult it would be compared to the original Rubik's Cube which, once you learn all the algorythms, isn't too taxing. I can't get my head around this Mirror Block though.

It definitely has something to do with the Continuum Transfunctioner.

I'm not so sure about this.
It looks like something your mom would give you so you could learn about geometry or something.
Toys are supposed to look like Madballs.

If that thing had a couple spiders or earthworms on it, maybe..

I agree. If your parents give you educational toys it means they secretly resent you. That's just scientific fact.

But this is the sort of toy somebody in their late 20s should buy for themselves. It's a sort of rite de passage.

That's just...wow. Something so complex, no wonder it was made in Japan. Let's hope they don't be an ass like with Super Mario: The Lost Levels and not release it here.
