Er, an 'American' and a 'Southern' accent? :? The South is still American, even though some of them don't agree.

I grew up in upstate New York south of Rochester, but I live on Long Island, so my accent tends to flip-flop between the two places. It usually depends on whom I'm talking to.

Mine is as ordinary as it gets. I do have a weakness for guys with accents. Especially British, and Australian. I had a mad crush on this guy named Grant who was from England. I could listen to him talk all day. But that is not all he had going for him. He was tall dark and handsome.

I say "y'all" that is about as much of a southern accent as I have. WHen I lived in MS everyone asked me where I was from. Some people didn't believe me when I said I was born in MS and had always been there.

It's a godo thing I left. If I had heard "Why do you use such big words" one more time I was going to crack that person's head like a walnut.

You didn't *have to" change the way you type. But it bothered people so you did. You didn't lash out at everyone for wanting regular english.

I, for one, would like to thank you for your decision to change and say that you have my respect for it.

Sometimes when I am out in public I use an australian of slavik accent. I think if I could choose my accent I would choose a finnish or scandanavian accent.

I'd go with an Aussie accent or one of the extremely cartoonish British accents that you only see villians use in the movies.

Yeah. I also use a different name. Sometimes I get Doctors Business cards from their offices, like ten or so from the cardholder, and introduce myself as that person and give them that card.

My name is Michael Moore and I have convinced two people at conventions that I was the director.

I love my accent too much to change it.
I even have the "Rhode Island Dictionary".
It's full of classic Rhode Island-isms......like Cah, and other rediculious, made up words....
