I think the west coast being (Washington, Oregon, and california) have about the same accent. But apperantly up here in the northwest we tend to emphasise our s's. But when i'm really tired, i get a mixture of my mom's (michigan) and my dads (washington). Or if i havent slept in a while I get sort of a british accent it's kinda odd.
Dot: Don't look down. You might fall and hit your head and die and your brains would leak out alllllll over.

Just a general Americanized accent. I do carry a slight East Texas accent (which is the one redneck accent to rule them all mind you) from time to time. Some people find that hard to believe that I am FROM that region because the way I speak isn't any different from that you see in any other state from the North. I can also do a really good British accent despite having little British ancestry.

I don't know if this is a West Coast, PNW, or just Oregon thing, but my pronunciation of 'wh' words is different than my wife's (she's from VA). She laughs whenever I say the word 'white', because she pronounces it 'wyte', without the initial 'blowing out' for the 'wh'. I tried to explain that it's probably just the local VA dialect that causes her to think it's funny, but there's no arguing with a highschool English teacher.

I have been told I don't have an accent. Most people down here seem to draw out their words and emphazie their vowels. An example would be hell, people from were I grew up would say heeeell.

Well, I'm from New England, but no Boston accent. I also don't have a New York nor New Jersey accent (but my Mom is from the Bronx and denies that she still pronounces things like "wall" as waul.";) The only people who tell me I have an accent are the people from the deep south (duh, it's because I talk too fast for them) or people from Maine. In Maine, they make fun of our "lazy T's" and stuff like that. Personally, I think they're nuts. If anyone knows what they mean, feel free to explain it to me.

You know, I've learned not to trust others when it come to accents. Some people are really bad at identifying accents. There's this guy in my design class who's from Australia, and everyone thought he was from Boston! I said, "Aside from the way he talks, did you NOT notice his obsession with Asutralian football?!" He came in one day wearing a jersey!

Darn, I had an online test to determine your American regional accent, but I can't locate it.

I Am From Texas And I Really Don't Have Any Particular Type Of Accent, However My Voice Does Tend To Sound Different From Time To Time, Depending On What Kind Of Mood I'm In! :D

I have a southern-country accent. Ironically, I was born in New York, but my mother and father moved to Virginia when I was very young. Mom said I had a strong northern accent as a kid too, but living here wiped that out, now I sound like a "southern belle" as one person I know puts it.

i know i have a texas accent but you dont notice your accent until you go somewhere else. a recent trip to chicago showed me that. all my relatives where amazed how much of a texas accent we had. i was in turn amused by their heavy chicagoland accent, to those not familiar, try watching the old "bob swarskys super fans" skits on saturday nigth live. I know exactly what you are saying.

What's funny, is that within Texas, there are sub-accents. My accent is alot thicker than my cousin's from Austin.

My computer teacher is from Oklahoma, and has an accent that's kind of a combination of an American and a Southern accent.
