He would have gone on with the storyline had the tragic events on June 24, 2007 not occurred. Benoit's death and those of his wife and son, Daniel, brought a screeching halt to McMahon's demise. Truth be told, Benoit should have been off of television more than he should have been on. "Drafting" him to ECW was a terrible mistake. And if we had known then what we do now, Benoit should have been checked into a hospital for possible cerebral damage. His wrestling legacy will never be forgotten, but that doesn't excuse him from doing what he did and as a result, three lives are deceased when there should have been none.
