a masterful wordsmith with the singer/ songwriter fortay. Never truly had commercial sucess
due to subject matters of mercenaries in rhodesia, nicaragua, and political envoys heading to the middle east. The man had a dark wit and sense of humor. Ill sleep when im dead is an example

The only commercial success he ever had was werewolves of london.
Either you get him or you don't yet we was the other side of the singer songwriter spectrum of the 70's, truly not for the james taylor set.

You know, Whenever Sweet Home Alabama is played, I always think of Werewolves of London, because they have the same exact beat. In fact, when Kid Rock's version came on, I could have sworn it was Werewolves of London.
    Oh yeah?

I agree. I always expect to hear Werewolves of London. The intro sounds too much alike.

I hate Warren Zevon almost as much as I hate Rush. His lyrics were AWFUL and his songs are flippin' retarded. Werewolves in London was tolerable at first, but you can only hear that same piano sequence a number of times before you literally go batshit insane.
