another (most likely more stupid) question i just found spongebob lost spatula for GBC. will that work in the gameboy i found?

EDIT: looks like some batterys leeked in there. :(

Yes, the Game Boy will work if you put batteries in it with no cover, hopefully they will stay in place (try to keep your hands over the batteries while you play though to give them extra support). If not, that means the Game Boy itself is broken.

That depends if the Lost Spatula is Game Boy Color or Game Boy Color-exclusive. Is the game pak black or green see-through? If it's the former, it'll play, but not in color. If the latter, it'll give you a screen saying you need to play it on a Game Boy Color. Either way, it's a good way to test the system.
    Game... ovahhhhhhhhh!!!

    Mhm, any time. :)

Perhaps you could send it into Nintendo. Last I checked they still repair older systems, but they've probably changed that by now.

Really? if i'm remembering right i think i got it in a "50cents for anything in here" bag at a yard sale. that would be cool if they do. im going to go look around their website.

and by the way it was a see through green game pack which says "This game pak is for the GBC and GBA systems only"

Yeah, in that case, it'll only work on a Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, or a Game Boy Player.

heres what I got from their website

Original Game Boy, Game Boy pocket, Game Boy Color

    Repair is No longer available

Due to the age of the system, we are unable to offer factory repair directly from Nintendo.

Although factory repair is no longer available, finding a replacement of your older product may still be a possibility, as some stores and auction sites offer used products. Click here to read some tips on where to start.

You also may want to consider purchasing one of Nintendo's latest systems, such as a Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo DS, or Game Boy Advance SP. These systems come with a one-year warranty, and allow you to play the hottest new games available. In fact, if you're into the old-school retro games, you might be interested to know that many of our classic NES, SNES, and N64 titles are reappearing as titles for Nintendo's newer systems. I guess it's a retro paperweight now. :(

I have the Game Boy Advance which plays my spatula game perfectly.

i just got curious when i went down into the basement and found NASCAR 2000 for PC, the case of wheel of fortune for ps2(useful right?), Spyro season of ice brand new for GBA and razor racing unopened for the PS1

since the gamer bumped this, if all that's wrong that you know that the batteries leaked, I heard using a pencil eraser on the contactors will take that sludge right out.

Or, ya know, you could try using the AC adaptor for it if you have one. if it works, you should be able to find a 6V r/c car battery/clip and charger and run the gameboy off that.
