    		 I'm an introverted person by nature. I really crave alone time. Sometimes being around people drains my energy. Even if I go away on a trip with friends. I MUST have a few minutes everyday to wander off by myself and really appreciate my surroundings. I'm not much of a phone person either. Somedays I don't even call anyone. I do have my spurts of outgoing behavior once in while. But I usually go back to feeling the same anti-social way after a while. I'm starting to think I have a serious problem!

    Does anyone else ever feel this way?

    		 Theres nothing wrong with that. I would call myself a person who doesnt crave attention or always needs to be around people. I'm alone all the time. In class I keep to myself, I'd rather watch TV alone, etc. It's fine with me. I have plenty of friends, I just dont need to hang around them all the time. I've had my cell for over a year and only used about 4 hours, but I'm a guy so I'm naturally not talkative.

    		 My dad is a polygraph tester, and one of the books he has talks about different personality types. There are some who energize by being alone and others who energize by being around people. I'm like you and need my alone time.

    		 I'm the same way; I love to be by myself in my room, or sitting outside... I am known as a 'homebody' because I would rather stay at home on a Friday night then go out and be with people... I have moments where I am outgoing but I couldn't have that without alone time!! I like to make people feel comfortable in the environment I'm in (school, work, church) which is sometimes perceived as outgoing, but I'm still kinda a loner... and I'm the same way with the phone (we are girls so it's seem as a little more strange) but I go days without talking to anyone on the phone and the days I do, it's to my best friend only... so you aren't strange, unless I am too!!!

    		 I'm the same way, pretty much. By the description, I'm a bit like SYSfan, a "homebody" and the same thing applies to the "phone" thing. I don't talk to anyone on the phone, accept for my best friend.

    I'd also rather sit at home and read a book, than go out and hang out or whatever.

    I think that may have a lot to do with the fact that I'm an only child, who didn't have many people to play with when I was younger, and my parents moved when I was younger (went to three seperate Elementary Schools), so the people I had already gotten accustomed to at the second Elementary School I attended, were still left behind. Moving here (still in the same place) I never really adjusted, I suppose as a kid and just became introverted, stuck to reading, and really kept to myself once I hit middle school.

    I like it that way, love it in fact. I also couldn't see myself married or with a guy either because of that. I like my alone time way too much in that sense...yet, I want to have a kid someday. How screwed up is that? lol

    		 Heck the only place in my home city I ever found any peace and quiet was my roof. I'd climb up there and just sit and read, draw something, or just be alone. It was either that or in the middle of the night I'd sneak outside and just be alone then. I have three siblings and I'm the oldest so I have way too much to do, so I try to make my own time for myself as often as I can.

    I need my peace and quiet. :?

    		 I'm the kinda person that just needs to drive... that's when I feel I can really be all by myself...away from family and friends. I just hop in my car and go to the store and blast music that I want to listen to!!! But where I feel perfectly at home would be at my piano!!! It doesn't matter who is at my house I will just start playing. I go into this whole other world that's just me and my music. I think the reason I like it so much is because it is something that is all mine...... Just me playing music I've written.... It's the one thing in my life no one can mess with.

    wow same thing for me..I'm an only child by a single mom. I didn't keep in contact with many friends because we moved so often. New Jersey- several areas to New York -- several different areas. I guess i'm just used to a quiet house and a lot of peace and quiet so when I'm around too much commotion I get irritated sometimes. I only have about 3 or 4 people including my best friend that I talk to often..other than that I can't be bothered.

    What a retro bonding moment! :D

    wow. that was classy.

    anyway...

    i come from a typical nuclear family with one sibling. i remember trying to run with groups, but rarely ever stuck with them when i realized herd mentality sucks serious dong. elementary school taught me that quite quickly. from there, my misanthropy budded after coming to the conclusion that i was surrounded by an army of bigoted turds, year after painful year. my tolerance for company is really thin as i creep up in years. maybe it is the firm understanding that i am going to bite the dust soon enough and that lingering bullshit from a circle of people that i feel ambivalent about is just out of the question. a coffee together once in a while? maybe. but anything lasting more than an hour, and my inner mike tyson emerges.

    it isn't screwed up at all. you just know what you want, and you won't take cloying crap from anyone. it doesn't take away the fact that you have it in you to be a good parent.

    See, I'm the opposite...I am 1 of 5 children and the middle at that.....and for me it was because there are so many of us and it's always loud, I like to get away and be in quiet for a little bit!!! I love my family and wouldn't change anything, but because of my big family, I like my alone time because it is rare!! I am like Kray in that I wait until the middle of the night or something to get alone...my favorite place is a swing in the back yard or a swing on the front porch at night!!

    		 I'm pretty sure people who sit at PC's and post to Forums when they could be out sitting in bars or packed movie theatres with their friends probably qualify as Loners.

    ie: Everyone here in one form or another. People who are social junkies usually dont dig the Internet thing because its basically a one player sport.

    The ultimate goof are Internet Bars, where loners congrigate, not to interact with each other, but to interact with the 'net :D

    		 I may be the biggest loner on the site. I hardly ever leave the house except for work, guitar strings, or exercise. I hardly ever introduce myself to anyone, instead favoring for fate to do all the work for me. I usually prefer to keep to myself and leave it at that. Shoot, I hardly ever reply more than once to a thread in a message board, I just prefer to do what I do, and if others follow or want to hang, hey, great, if not, oh well.

    I've gotten so used to being alone it's hard for me ot even think about hanging with anybody, friends or otherwise.

    		 I'm not a loner. 8) I like being around people, as long as their personalities don't conflict with mine. If I can find one thing likeable about a person, that's enough for me...but if I can't, they need to STOP CALLING THE HELP DESK. :x
