I did not own a subscription but my parent's would buy the occasional copy for me. I am trying to find some of the original copies. But I only remember bits and pieces of it. I might start up a thread to search for them...

Damn, all the Nintendo mags over here review shitty DS games positively and waste so much paper.

Well, I live in Brazil and here we have the Nintendo World Magazine, which is the official Nintendo magazine in South America. I bought almost every edition from 1998 to 2004. Thanks to that magazine, I played games like Ocarina of Time and Majora´s Mask and also Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 0 for the Gamecube. I still have about 50 magazines locked in my closet and I want to keep them forever. I bought another edition last week 'cause I missed reading Nintendo news on paper, but it's not like before...

I used to have a subscription for Nintendo Power Magazine when I was 6 or 8. These days, I just like to read them when I see them at Wal-Mart or Target.

Emuparadise has a bunch of old gaming mags in CBR format, including a lot of nintendo power.

    I had a 1yr subscription around 92~93 (vol 35-45), plus the SMB3 strategy guide.

Much like the posts in this thread, I think that Nintendo Power's quality improved a lot over time. At least, I remember in the Gamecube era, they gave almost every game a good score (and ones they didn't they'd make up some lame positives for even if there were none), EVERY Nintendo game got a five out of five, and the writing was really lame and full of bad, childish jokes (this was especially harmful in an era when everyone said Nintendo was "kiddy"). Now the writing has improved immensely (and even surprisingly profane on occasion), they aren't afraid to give games low scores (even their own), and they've formatted the magazine in a nice, consistent way that looks really nice. Plus they'll have a lot of information on older games instead of just hyping up new ones, so they're appealing to Nintendo fans in a way they should have always.

I downloaded the first issue of nintendo power, it's interesting comparing it to the ones I'm more familiar with. For one thing, the entire issue was about the NES, I guess even the gameboy wasn't out yet.
