Much like the posts in this thread, I think that Nintendo Power's quality improved a lot over time. At least, I remember in the Gamecube era, they gave almost every game a good score (and ones they didn't they'd make up some lame positives for even if there were none), EVERY Nintendo game got a five out of five, and the writing was really lame and full of bad, childish jokes (this was especially harmful in an era when everyone said Nintendo was "kiddy"). Now the writing has improved immensely (and even surprisingly profane on occasion), they aren't afraid to give games low scores (even their own), and they've formatted the magazine in a nice, consistent way that looks really nice. Plus they'll have a lot of information on older games instead of just hyping up new ones, so they're appealing to Nintendo fans in a way they should have always.
