Nintendo Power Magazine

    		 Back when nintendo was in their prime years I subscribed to this magazine. The whole mania for me started in the late 80's, so I started getting the magazine probably around 1992 through to 1995. I have some fond memories of this magazine. Nesters adventures is one. But probably the best was being introduced to many classic games through that magazine BEFORE they were released. Games like ff6, secret of mana, and chrono trigger. I also learned a lot of game secrets that would have been impossible to find without that magazine. Still the most fun I had was just reading about and looking at pictures at some of my all time favourite games before they came out.

    		 I was a subscriber for about 11 or so years, starting from 1989 (I think). My first issue was the Dragon Warrior strategy guide, back when NP published them as actual volumes. I took up the offer of getting a year's subscription that included Dragon Warrior items like a fold-out map, a bestiary, a laminated card with information on it, and the actual game. It was sweet.

    I remember reading the Nester comics, looking for codes and hints, and the Zelda and Wario comics. I stopped subscribing once the GameCube became prominent. Around that time, I had to focus my money on other things.

    		 I used to get them out from the library when they had Pokemon comics inside of them until some kids decided to rip the comics out of the magazines so that meant that noone else had a chance to read them.

    		 I have a bunch of the old nintendo power mags
    they're my brother's, from when he was younger
    but i will admit that i've actually used them a bit since i've recently hooked up the ol' super nes :D

    ....well not everyone has a family as cool as yours. Probably the coolest thing I ever got from nintendo power was getting my super metroid players guide from them because I renewed my subscription at the right time.

    		 when i bought my GBA it came with a cupon for one year free of it and some headphones. i took the year subscription and the headphones. after that i continued for one year then unsubscribed. the headphones also broke :(
