Donkey Kong II (arcade)

Did anyone play this game in the arcade. I just went to a big place last night for my graduation party where all my graduating students get to go to an all night party and there was arcade machines such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, Mario Kart Arcade GP, and they even had an old machine of the Nintendo Playchoice, but it wasn't plugged in, I wanted to see what games they had on there but I don't know weather they just got it, or it was an old machine they had for a while, it must be new since I haven't seen it there last time I went there.

So anyway, when I was looking through a machine that has some old school arcade games, I came across Donkey Kong II. I was suprised, I did not know that game existed, all that time I thought DKjr was Donkey Kong II. So I tried it out and it's kind of the same thing as the first Donkey Kong, except it's more challenging and have different courses. I never did get to beat the game throughout the night I played it but man, I thought I knew about EVERY Donkey Kong game, but I did not know this one existed. Interesting, I guess it just never made it to the NES, but that's probably because it still uses some levels from the first Donkey Kong. It's kind of like Super Mario Bros 2 (Japan) where it's like the first SMB except with different levels.

But I think also the reason why I never heard of it is because there doesn't seem to be any type of info posted on the internet, the only thing I stumble across is the arcade artwork which could be found here.

Seriously, I can't believe that this game doesn't seem to be found anywhere on the internet, there's not even a ROM of that game that I could even find for mame. Is this game seriously that rare?

That sounds very interesting. I didn't know Donkey Kong 2 existed either. It also sounds like you had a fun graduation party with all of those arcade games.

I did have fun at my graduation party. All the arcade machines were set on free play so I could play as many games as I wanted. I played almost every cup on Mario Kart Arcade GP.

I'm not old enough. By the time the popularity wore off is when I was old enough to play games.
