Oh my god, just give it a rest already. If you were born in 1990, then I would consider you a 1990's kid.

If you were born in 90 you're only going to remember half the deacde so maybe you're a little 90's kid. But good god I don't know anybody in my life that love looking back at the times when they were 6 or 7 years old, people always look back at ages 10+... Except for the wannabe 90's kids on this forum only people I have ever seen freak out about the ages of 6 - 9 since that was the 90's... Dude and if you were born in 93 don't even think for a sec you're even a 90's kid in anyway you were a 90's baby at most... God damn 90's hijackers! Take your 2000 decade and live with it.

A lot of us 80s kids totally look back on the time when we were 6/7 years old. Transformers, Voltron, GI Joe, He-Man... My friends and I look back at those years fondly, and that all started around '83-'84 when we were 5-6 years old. I don't expect why it would be different for anyone else.

Seriously, why are people so possessive about this? Can someone explain?

Sure, we will give it a rest...ONCE ALL OF THESE KIDS BORN IN FUCKING 1994 STOP CONSIDERING THEMSELVES AS 90s KIDS. I mean come on, they won't be able to remember ANY OF IT! OMGWTFBBQ is right. This is your decade, most of your childhood was spent in it. You only know about this 90s shit from crap you looked up on the internet and what not. Sure, I'm not a "true" 90s kid (Born in 78), but my brother is sick of 90s babies acting like they actually lived through the entire decade. And if you all say shit like "OMG! I remember the 90s fondly" to him, expect to get laughed at.

I agree with mlw1984. Give it a rest already. Does it really matter if someone has fonder memories of their younger years than their older ones and therefore wants to be associated with the better years? That happens a lot more than you think. I have very fond memories from when I was 7 and the few years leading up to it. There's no shame in looking back on something from when you were that young at all.

And as previously stated, I am a REAL 90's kid and I don't care if younger kids want to consider themselves part of this decade because I can think of over 100 reasons why I'm glad I'm a 90's kid. I'm flattered by it and glad to share my memories with others.
Recipe for nostalgia: Mix 80's and 90's culture. Stir in some good memories. Add a dash of reflection. Mixture should now taste bittersweet. Shake well and enjoy!

Can't you ignore them? Honestly, if you think they sound idiotic by claiming to be "90's kids", well don't stir up trouble in the forums. Why can't you just sit back, relax, and share your memories without having to pick on a group.

Okay. I was born in 1993, and I consider myself a 90's kid. I don't care about what anyone else has to say, I remember the 90's clearly!

Why can't you just make peace with each other? This shouldn't even be debatable. The way I see it, if you can remember 80-90% of the fads, toys, cartoons, etc., then you are a 90s kid. Can't somebody make up some kind of quiz for this?

The problem with that is all of the people who just look this stuff up on the internet, don't really remember it, and claim that they do. :? I'd say to just drop the term altogether.
    Game... ovahhhhhhhhh!!!

True, but honestly, I wish people here stop bickering and realize that the "golden age" of being a kid was from sometime in the 80s (around the NES and Nickelodeon) to around 9/11(might be a stretch, but oh well). This thread needs to be locked; it's offending too many people (like me).

Lifeisvertigo I know kind of what your saying I was born in 1994 and even though I didn't experience it all except for 4 or 5 years of it I have some of my best memories from then. I remeber the great cartoons and clothes and room stuff from them. I mean I remember a lot of old toys and stuff so how can you say someone born in 1994 can't be 90's kid ?

1994? See that's way to late. You missed the best parts! It's fine with me, the thing I don't like about it is you'll hear kids that weren't around to see be all like "yeah tv is awesome or better today!" And they don't even know what awesome is compared to the 90's.

That's because you got the stuff from the re-runs and shit like that. It doesn't help that you weren't actually OLD ENOUGH TO EXPERIENCE what it was like to be a kid or a teenager during the decade.

Anyways, you didn't even start elementary school until 1999 or 2000. Please kids, the 2000s is your decade. Just accept that and shut up already. Real 90s kids are born in the mid-late 1980s.

I'm really getting fucking sick of you, grindcore_fan. We don't need someone with the mental maturity of a 4-year old yelling in people's faces and telling to be 2000's kids. It's not your job to see what people do and don't remember. People born in 1994 do have memories of the 90's. just not as much as you. Live with it. And since you're "older" than them, why can't you be tolerant like any regular well-mannered adult, and let them call themselves "90's kids"?

Why is this even a issue?

Is this whole thing eating away at you so badly that you must continue being pissed of about it?
Just let bygones be bygones already.
