What commercials used to scare you when you were younger?

One that I can think of off the top of my head is this "Nick is kids" commercial. It featured a heartbeat and the "splat" nick logo pumping. I can't find it on retrojunk but I'm sure it's there.

What commercials used to scare you?

Any commercials dealing with urging people not to smoke or do drugs. It was scary stuff.

"This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. ::SPLAT!:: Any questions?"

My memory's more than a little sketchy here, but I remember seeing some really scary commercial from 1988 for the Chicken Sandwich at Burger King, where the sandwich has wings and I guess was trying to fly off the table. Has anybody seen that commercial? If it's on youtube, please send me the video link.

If I were a small child I'm pretty sure this would scare me. Hell If it happened in real life now it would scare the crap out of me.

Well I can't find it but, it has to do with kids who won't drink their milk, and one kid says "Milk is for babies".Then they see they're neighbor's (who never drank milk) arms snap off.

one of the funniest commercials ever!

as for the scariest commercial for me here it is... it was a commercial for a security system i believe (it mightve been for those security necklaces old people wear to call the fire department when they fall)... anyway, in part of it was an old lady sitting in front of a HUGE window, reading a book (it was night)... all of a sudden, a man dressed in black w/ a black ski mask walks in front of the window, stops half way across, looks in at the lady the proceeds to walk past the other end of the window, which causes the old lady to bring her hands to her face and gasp in horror. this scared the living ISHT out of me... ruined me for life... seriously... now that i look back on it, it was extremely cheesey, but back then it was truly terrifying...

I was always scared of the commercials with Sally Struthers pleading for people to send money to the starving children in Africa. I'm not sure who scared me more, the dying children with flies swarming around them or Sally Struthers.

the scariest commercials by far were the ones they did for the Time-Life "Mysteries of the Unknown" series of books in the 80s/90s, where they showed all the images of supposedly true ghosts and aliens

For me, it would have to be YTV's early Are You Afraid of the Dark commercials. They would show different times and the commercial would end with something like "no matter where you are, it will find you" in a creepy voice.

There was a commercial for Dristan in the early 90s that terrified me, with talking Easter Island idols.
