    Cowboys in space!
That's why 80's toys were awesome. We accepted this idea with no problem.
And I think the leader of the badguys was a zombie cowboy. The toys came with old western newspaper inserts, which was cool. I had Bravestarr & Tex Hex.
I also used Tex Hex as a Beetlejuice toy before they made those(very useful info).

I liked that guy Handle-Bar/Bar-Tender. He had a green face and a red moustache.

    *Edit - Here he is:

There was also a guy who was called Sandstorm or something and he sprayed sound out his mouth.

The show had good animation too. Was it by the guys who made Centurions?

I can barely remember the show. I played with toys forever though. 80's toy weren't super detailed, and usually not that big, but Bravestarr and his dudes were big & pretty cool looking.

Yeah thats what made me think they were related to Centurions. They were also big, detailed toys.

    Yeah, that's Tex Hex.
The guy was pretty well known in space. Not famous. Notorious.

    I did that too.
You could get their arms off pretty easy, but I'm pretty sure I broke Tex when I tried to yank off his legs.
