I've never used the round-shaped one, only the original. Looks too much like an SNES controller.

I guess the only plus side to that other controller, is that there are no pointy ends. lol

the back of the round one is weird it's all curvy and not flat like the snes one. So it's actually got more shape than a snes controller, but less buttons
That sounds pretty interesting. Maybe that round shaped controller, though, was like a prototype for the SNES's design.

...even though it came out 3 years after the snes controller did? And no, the snes prototype controller is the same shape as the final version. Just missing the shoulder buttons and with red x y b a buttons. I want the red buttons lol

The old controllers all the way. It's best to go with the original.

actually the original came out in 1983 in japan and it had square a and b buttons. It was also hard wired into the system, had a microphone in the second controller instead of a start/select button. And the corners were rounded off and it was red and well.....nothing like what you think is the original one because as far as you think the entire world is just your country.

I hate people who like a certain model just because it's what they grew up with. And say it's the "original" because it was the original release version of it in their country. Even though there was another version released 2-3 years prior elsewhere.

Ummm, Drakon? You do realize you're being completely narrow-minded, right? The one we got is the original for the Nintendo Entertainment System. There's nothing wrong with calling it that, why should we have to only look at the original in the grand scale and not in our home country? We're not all losers to the point that we have such a specific definition to the word "original" to the point that has to mean the very first thing ever released. Also what they grew up with is a perfectly logical reason, what's wrong with it? I dunno about you, but I personally prefer using controllers I've been using since I was in diapers to new ones I've never once held in my life. Sure I can get used to them, but it still doesn't feel the same.

I don't mind if you don't care for the original American models, nor that you really prefer older controllers to newer ones. Just don't be so full of yourself to the point you actually "hate" people who have different viewpoints.
    Game... ovahhhhhhhhh!!!

What's the point of liking something just because it's what you're used to? That doesn't mean it's better. It's the most retarded reasoning I've ever heard.

Maybe because you're adjusted to it or it brings back memories? Maybe just for old time's sake?

I understand completely, and you're getting way too worked up over something like this. :?

You know, between the SNES controller and the Super Famicom controller, I feel that the Super Famicom controller is nicer. At least that explains why there were those four colors in that world in the center star of Star World. Super Mario RPG probably would've been easier too (okay, probably about the same) if we just looked at the colors as opposed to remembering the button letters.

I know this is probably not the right place to ask this, but any idea why the controller and system were changed to that extent, dropping the colors for the US release?

The old ones. I didn't like the new shape of the controller.

The square ones. I liked that they were going for kind of a Super Nintendo-like for the rounded ones, the problem is they didn't pull it off correctly. It just felt awkward.
