NES controllers, new or old version"?

As we know, the NES had two types of controllers the original squared-edged ones:

    And the dog bone ones:

Which do you prefer? And is there a reason why?

Me, I prefer the original squared ones. To me the dog bone style feels why to much like playing an snes, and the placement with the A and B buttons is just odd for an NES game, it just doesn't feel like I'm playing an NES with that kind of controller, however the roundness can be little better on your hands.

    What do you think?

Squared all the way because it was much more easy to play the game.

Yup! Exactly! Those squared ones made all the difference, literally.

I never used the rounded controller, so I have to go with the original rectangle.

The original square one. I'd agree that it just wouldn't feel like NES with a new controller.

Both are good, though if I had to choose it would be the original, rectangular version.

the round one. Unlike most people here I actually HAVE the round ones and know what they feel like. I remember as a kid getting so frustrated with the corners of the square ones poking my hands.

The first model, rectangle-shaped one for me. It just feels more classy. It's so... basic.

I let my friend look at it once, and looked like he's never seen it before.

I've never used the round-shaped one, only the original. Looks too much like an SNES controller.

I guess the only plus side to that other controller, is that there are no pointy ends. lol

the back of the round one is weird it's all curvy and not flat like the snes one. So it's actually got more shape than a snes controller, but less buttons

I always use the same Snes configs with any controller on Xbox and PS.
