Sometimes parents thought it was educational to turn off the TV and play board games. Some of the most educational games for me were Fireball Island and Shrieks & Creaks.
These games are REAL GOOD, hut.

I had Nightmare when I was a kid, but I bought Atmosfear recently, and it cannot hold a candle to Nightmare.

I picked this 1981 Dark Tower board game by Milton Bradley up in a Salvation Army for $1.99. The description on the box reads "A Fantasy Adventure Born of Electronic Wizardry." It's pretty bad ass!

Man, I once had this board game called "Ghosts" or something like that and the actual board looked like an old mansion or castle or something and the game pieces were sheet ghosts. I can't even find a picture of that crap on the "internet". Dammit, need to show!

What were those board games that came with VHS tapes that you played along with the game, and the tape would give you commands while you were playing?

I think I had one about detectives killing outer space aliens.
It wasn't too good. Maybe it was stupid as heck.

Ask Zandar. That game was the bomb back in the 90s.
There was nothing better than waving your hand over that thing for hours on end asking it the weirdest questions.
