It's a great game, Captain Howdy. A truly underrated video game masterpiece.

Super Mario RPG is an overlooked RPG and game in general by a'lot of people. Couldn't figure out why more people didn't enjoy RPGs, and when they put Mario and RPG together I noticed people shunning it. Great game and I look forward to getting a copy in the near future for my collection.

The main flaw this game did have, aside from Luigi's not being in it, 'cept for the en ding, was that you couldn't switch out Mario.

I guess it was set up like this...

    Power: Bowser; Mario (sort of)

    Support: Mallow; Peach

    Magic: Geno

For my line up, I would've had...

    Bowser, Peach, Geno.

I hated the fact that Mario always had to be used. I know it's his game, but man...he was pointless to me. Bowser was much better suited, especially with that chomp throw thing he used to do.

I always chose Peach over Mallow because of her healing abilities and she can revive players. I loved Peach's "Group Hug" which restored the entire party's HP, including herself (can't remember if it removed stuff like poison or anything like that). Mallow could only restore health and stuff like that one person at a time. Mallow was also kind of slow...

As for Geno, well, he just ruled in general. ^_^

I was always wondering why didn't they put Luigi in the game. Same thing with Super Mario 64.

^ Though you probably already did know, I'm gonna say it anyway, Sonic64 style.

Luigi Mario makes a cameo appearance in the game's ending in the parade in "Super Mario RPG." 8)

Luigi Luigi? Don't you mean Luigi Mario?

Also remember the star in the wishy place that said something like "I want to be a famous plumber like my brother."
    Game... ovahhhhhhhhh!!!

Yeah, I remember it, but it was still bothersome that Luigi wasn't a playable character or had him play some type of a role outside of Mario's coming across that wish plant thing and his leading the Parade at the end of the game. It's disturbing how even Peach had a bigger role than Luigi and was actively fighting alongside Mario. Even Toad played more of a role! That entire world, and there's no mention of Luigi at all, aside from an obscure reference to him with the wish thing and the fact that he's the one who's in the official player's manual to explain the game and how he wasn't in this one?

I really do miss the "Mario Bros", and back then I always viewed them as such. They have adventures together, but the more and more time that goes by, the more Luigi gets thrown to the side and get put in the somewhat pointless (well, not really...just party like games) games like Mario Tennis, Mario Kart, Mario Party, etc. Why can't we get another game where it's Mario and Luigi, like in the past?

Even though the Sonic series adds more characters to the franchise, Sega, to my knowledge, hasn't really ditched the other characters either. Like...in Sonic Battle, each character's story seem to help form the ending. Tails, Knuckles, and Amy were still prominent characters in the games that's been around since their debuts into the Sonic series, but not limited to the party games like Luigi seems to be now. Even with the addition of later characters, like say Shadow or Rouge, they're still considered "main" characters and are still treated as such. This is definitely something that Sega has the one-up on compared to Nintendo's Mario franchise, imo, unless Super Mario Galaxies has Luigi in the game for whatever the reason, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just to take the backseat to Mario again.

    Okay...done with my rant. ^^;

I think it's definitely the best Mario RPG out there, though Paper Mario is good too.

I heard that this game may soon be available on the Virtual Console.

SSJ, I agree with you 100%. They were the Mario Bros., and since Yoshi's Island Luigi's just sorta been put off. Why's it so hard for them to just make another co-op Mario adventure game, with player one as Mario and player two as Luigi? Think we got enough of that, Nintendo? I sure haven't.
    Game... ovahhhhhhhhh!!!

There IS a sequel. It is Paper Mario. Early in development the game had standard polygonal sprites and was called "Super Mario RPG 2".

You know, I totally forgot that Paper Mario was supposed to have been a technical sequel for Mario RPG. I feel rather foolish for forgetting that. I've never played Paper Mario, but always wanted to.

I remember when it first came out. My mother saw the commercial for it, and she was even bashing how silly it looked. "Who'd want to waste money on that?" So...that was one of the games not under the tree for me that Christmas. ^^
