    		 This being my first post and all
    first I'd like to give a nice hello to everyone here and to say I look forward to posting at this forum.

    Anyway, my question is
    do any of you guys remember An American Tail, the animated movie that came out in 1986?

    I personally thought, when I was younger, that this was one of the better animated movies out there, especially with the fact that Madeline Kahn and Dom Deluise were voices in it.

    		 yes, out don bluth's studio, the story about the mouse,Feivel Mouskawitz. i used to love that movie! me too too! i loved don bluth's animation, especially in his arcade games, namely dragons lair! and also the earth movie he did a few years back, i can't remember the title.

    but yes, american tail rocked!

    but they were both Direct to Video fare.

    		 Fievel Goes West was just the bomb. Tanya (Cathy Cavadini) singing Dreams to Dream and The Girl You Left Behind...that just owned.
    They made 2 straight-to-video sequels, and get this: FGW, where the family went to the west was JUST A DREAM. WTF? Fievel's about the same size and age as the first movie, Tanya's a little older than him, but younger than in the second movie. They totally f*&*&ed things up.

    Odd, huh? I guess girls DO mature faster. During the middle of her first song in Fievel Goes West, I had a sudden realization: She's not exactly a kid anymore. She seemed to be around 12-14.

    		 i loved American Tail, but i thought Fievel Goes West was even better. Sheriff Burp was so funny and John Clease as the villain cat :)

    both the first two were some of the best animated movies evah! Plus it was directed by the same guy who made All Dogs Go to Heaven and the first Land Before Time. Dang! His name slips my mind at the moment! :x

    		 I really liked this movie when I was little. I will admit that it did scare me at parts like at the beginning when the cats rampage through their homes. I had a giant Fievel (?) plush toy too :lol:

    		 I liked Fievel Goes West better, but I think An American Tail is the better film.

    Fievel Goes West is the only movie I can remember seeing with both my parents as a family before their divorce. I also remember saving like a banshee (a financially responsible banshee?) so I could buy a Fievel action figure that I saw in K-Mart.

    When my mum got remarried, though, we weren't allowed to watch the American Tail movies, because my step-dad had lost a son at the age of three whose favourite movie was An American Tail. Same with Care Bears.

    It's fair enough, I guess, but kind of annoying considering I liked those things too. I have em all on DVD now anyway. :lol:

    		 If for some reason you want to check out the later movies, just get Mystery of The Midnight Monster. There's an awesome song titled The Creature De La Nuit (The Creature Of The Night) sung by the movie's villainess Madame Mousee (Pronounced "Moo-SEI";). She's delightfully crazy and alternates between a bronx (pissed) and french accent (normal) depending on her mood. Crazy pink poodles for the win.

    		 My little bro loved this movie back in day. I must've seen it hundreds of times. he had the large plush dolls. Even these days every x-mas i go up my moms house and there on the tree are the little American Tail ornaments you got I believe from Burger King. I haven't seen this in a long time but it was a good movie.

    I loved that show. I'd totally love to find the tapes.
