It's official, after 17 seasons in the NFL Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre announced his retirement today. I'm a diehard Packer fan, and Brett Favre fan since his first season in Green Bay, so this really bums me out. I even met him once when my parents took me to Packer training camp whan I was like 14. Anyway, thanks for the memories Brett.

I'm just glad he retired on a winning season. It would've been nice to see him get another Super Bowl ring, though.

So does this mean that Brett Favre is officially retro now?

After being a packers fan after all these years..
Hard to see a legend like Favre go. Would have like to see him get another ring before he retired, but its his choice in the end.

Doesn't matter, the Bears are awful anyways. On "Around The Horn" today I heard Jay Mariotti use a funny nickname for Rex Grossman. He called him "Turnoversaurus Rex".

I hate to see him go, but it was great to watch him play.

What are you talking about? It's not like he was washed up or anything, he had one of his greatest seasons ever, broke a bunch of records, and took the Packers, who were a mediocre team, to the NFC Championship Game.

First ballot Hall of Famer in my book. Looks like the Vikings got a clear shot at the division title now.

Well, Favre's backup Rogers did pretty well against the Dallas Cowboys. He might end up prett good. Remember in the beginning Favre was considered to be bad. His first season with Atlanta he threw one pass, and it was intercepted and returned for a TD. So they traded him to Green Bay where he became the greatest. So all of you NFC North fans don't get too confident.
