Old school ECW was much better than today's WWE version. It was a breath of fresh air compared to the same ol' same ol' WCW and WWF were putting out at the time. It had just the right mix of lucha, hardcore, and classic wrestling. It's too bad Heyman couldn't keep it together financially.

Yeah it would be so much better if Paul was the general manager of ECW instead of Armando Estrada.

He was the GM of the new ECW untill he got "released" Supposidly there was problems between him and one of the kids.

It wouldnt matter any ways. Its owned by WWE, there for you wouldnt see anything different than what you are seeing now.

It was definitely a great organization, no doubt about it. It was a group of guys who actually loved and appreciated the business, which is certainly a good thing. That "thing" on the Sci-Fi Channel isn't even remotely close to being ECW.

I watched ECW towards the end of it... It was pretty good I liked Rob Van Dam. I never caught it on TV. I always watched WCW.

Why it is on SCI FI channel I still don't understand. Doesn't really fit with their programing.

They were great until WCW started hiring all their people out from under them. That was really the decline of the federation. The lacked the star power to pull off a pay per view that made money. Even when they got the tv contract they didn't have the workers to pull off a big audience.

WWE buying them was just the final nail, they were already done.

Hopefully some other federation will come around and do what ECW did, challenge the WWE and give wrestlers another option for employment. TNA is trying, but they need to get more exposure. Overall, they are just to similar to WWE. ECW was great because they gave little guys and people who couldn't work the mic, but could work in the ring, a chance.
