Did you know.......In the original instruction booklet for Mario Bros. 2 said that Birdo was a tansvestite. However, I believe that in the newer games they say he was always a girl.

On a simular note Vivian was a transvestite in the japanese version of Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door.

BTW: Paper Mario:tTYD is a truely great game I recoment that everyone here play it should they get the chance.

did you know that americans thought that the REAL super mario bros 2 was too hard (the lost levels), so instead of shipping over lost levels, they just changed the character maps in "doki doki panic!", a popular japanese game. hah! No wonder why we never seen wart, door potion, keys, carpets and mousier again. ;p~

Did you know that the hero in Faria: A World of Mystery and Danger is actually a man who has been cursed to be a woman so he wouldn't be able to marry the princess?

Did you know that Americans didn't think the Lost Levels was too hard, but the Japanese did, and that Birdo's always been a boy, even in Japan?

Umm, Vivian is female in the Japanese version, too.

    Quoted from the Mario Wiki:

In the Japanese version some claim that Vivian is a pretty boy, a bishounen. However, in the Japanese version, Beldam of the "Three Shadows Group" uses the word majotachi, which refers to a group of sorceresses, to refer to them. Words like her, she, and sisters are also used. Unlike most characters that undergo major changes during translation, Vivian maintains their female name in both the English and Japanese versions. Beldam often calls Vivian "Man", but in the English Version, this has been changed to Vivian being called 'Plug-Ugly'. More telling is that the menu information describes Vivian as a male.

A rough translation of the character description of Vivian is, "One of the shadow group, Vivian appears to be a girl but is really a boy." Also in a rough translation of Goombella's Tattle of Vivian, "That's Vivian. Of the shadow group, she's the youngest sister... er, brother."

Beldam most likely called Vivian a "man" as an insult.

And regarding the menu description, Mario was supposedly journaling the adventure, and somehow got her gender mixed up. Goombella was also confused, too.

One of the characters in Lufia: The Legend Returns is an excessively feminine-looking man who can wear all of the female-only equipment.

lol that reminds me when Garth asked Wayne if he thought bugs bunny was attractive when he dressed like a girl in Wayne's World, and oh yeah, no one seems to know the gender of Flea from Chrono Trigger
