A lot of people on here had NES's and Atari's but my first console was a Sega Genesis. It came with Sonic 2 and I also got Sonic Spinball and Goofy's Hysterical History Tour (might sound like a boring game but it's a fun challenge). I wish I still had my original Genesis and all my original games. I made the stupid decision to sell out my Sega Genesis and all my games to Funcoland for a PS1. I admit the PS1 is a great system, but I was so wrong in selling away my childhood for $52.50.
Fortunately, I have seen the err of my ways and I now have two Sega Genesis systems. Over the past two years I've also been able to re-collect the 30 odd games I had when I was kid and then some. I will also mention that the Genesis is the only console I own anymore. I eventually traded in the PS1 I mentioned before for a PS2 and then when I didn't have a job and I was really desperate for money one Christmas, I ended up selling my PS2 and all my games.
In the end, the Sega Genesis prevailed. It's like that saying: "If you set something free and it comes back, you'll love and cherish it forever." It sounds corny but its true.
Sometimes I still miss my PS2, but I think I miss the fact that it could play PS1 games more. My favorite PS1 games were the Tekken trilogy, the Resident Evil trilogy, Gran Turismo, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, and Final Fantasy VII. Maybe I should've hung on to those games. Who knows, if I was able to find a decent Sega Genesis again, maybe someday I'll pick up a PS1 again with a few of the games I mentioned again for old times sake. I don't think Resident Evil 2 or Tekken 3 will be too hard to find but I know for positive that Final Fantasy VII will be a bitch and half to find again in excellent condition. With the prices for Final Fantasy VII as steep as they are on eBay, I still find it hilarious that I bought the Greatest Hits version of the game brand new, mint and sealed, for $14.99 at EB Games back in 2003.
