Yeah but I still didn't care for the look of it much. There's always certain drawing styles you can tolerate (of course we all know that anything from the 90's could never go wrong cause animation was still in it's prime ). For shows today Spongebob, for me, had decently drawn characters and well crafted backgrounds compared to other things you might see today, while Fairly Oddparents and Danny would be at the bottom of my tolerence level. But there are some shows now, almost a lot, that look almost unbareable to look at. Shows on Jetix for example have characters with hardly any real expressions like Pucca or ones with very blocky characters like Yin-Yang-Yo! that make Fairly Oddparents' D-shaped heads look great (I actually thought of Fairly Oddparents to be in the same lines as Powerpuff Girls or Dexter myself).
But I suppose shows shouldn't always be judged by their looks. Those new episodes probably are pretty good like you said, it's just hard to watch with such bland looking characters.  |
