I just saw the old "Nothing But Net" McDonald's commercial recently, featuring Larry Bird and Michael Jordan. Nice memories there; I'd completely forgotten the "What You Want Is What You Get At McDonald's Today" slogan.
That reminds me of the ones for Burger King. "Calvin?!"
I've got a bunch of episodes of the animated Dennis the Menace on tape, so I've also got a bunch of '90s commercials on them I'd probably like to watch again soon.
Not from the '90s, but here are my two recent favorites:
1. The S'mores bar commercial where the bear (in a parody of an everyday human being) goes out to the grocery store, slaps hands with a friend, looks at a woman while crossing the street, then nearly gets hit by a car and apologetically waves it off. I wish I had that recorded.
2. One for some beverage (Surge, maybe) where there are these two guys in a convertible who are waiting for their friend to show up. Every time he gets near, they pull the car a few yards away and laugh at him, then they say "seriously" over and over again, wait for him to come close, then pull the car away once more. Classic. |
