Okay, I know I can't be the only person to have played a game for 24 hours straight, looked around, and said "how the hell did that happen?". Next thing I know, I'm supposed to be at work in an hour and haven't slept for 36 hours. These aren't always my favorite games, they are just games I HAVE to keep playing by some unknown compulsion. Although I like a LOT of games, there have been a handful that I literally couldn't stop playing.

    My addictions have been:
    - Fallout (PC): addictive turn-based nuclear apocalypse RPG.
    - Escape Velocity (MAC): addictive space RPG - they made a sequel for PC and the cycle started all over again.
    - Ogre Battle (64): addictive fantasy RPG - I've heard the PS version is just as addictive.

What are yours? This could be therapeutic OR expose a bunch of addicts to a new drug. We'll find out.

    -GTA: Vice City
    -Kingdom Hearts

    Vice City
    Tie Fighter
    Mortal Kombat (2 player)
    God of War
    Tomb Raider
Alien Trilogy (Not a great game, but for a fan...)

These are all games Ive played non stop for far too long.

    But the king?

Pro Evo. I swear, three people can play this and look at the clock and realise it's 5am.

Any game with a really good story to back it up have always been my weaknesses. Such as...
    Zelda games
    F. Fantasy games
    Castlevania series
    Ultima Series
and Metroid Prime completely stole my spring break of 2003.

Final Fantasy II (or IV if you're tracking the Japanese releases)
    Final Fantasy III/VI
    Metroid/Super Metroid
    Castlevania II
    Final Fantasy VII

    On the PC:
Sid Meier's Civilization II (a game that embodies the "just ONE... MORE... TURN..." syndrome)

I had an epiphany while thinking about this topic, see if you agree with me. I think game addicts, with the "just five more minutes" compulsion, come from being raised on game consoles rather than computer games. Because even though I play computer games, I was raised on NES. In computer games you can always save your progress and start right back where you were, but with Nintendo, in games like Super Mario 3, you had to keep playing (or leave your game system on while you slept) in order to not lose the progress you already made, otherwise, you're screwed and had to start all over again. So now, even though every system now offers the chance to save progress, it doesn't come naturally to us. What do you think?

Hmm... well for a few months after EQ2 came out it seems like I spent day in a day out playing it. But eventually I got bored and unsubcribed a couple months ago.

I get addicted to puzzle games real easily. And if I think I'm gonna be in the bathroom for longer than 2 minutes, I take my GameBoy with.

I've had addictions to many games like FFII-FFIX, Super Mario RPG, Spyro, Warcraft III, Breath of Fire III, and Final Fantasy Tactics. All of these games have drained at least 100 hours out of my life.

My longest binge in one sitting is 37 hours with FFVII, only stopping for about 10-15 minutes a couple times to go to the bathroom, and I brought my own food and drinks to the TV so I didn't even have to leave to eat ^^

Wow did I have it bad...

Oh and the most amount spent on one game would probably be Final Fantasy Tactics, I've had at least 4-5 different saved games where I maxed the clock at 99:59:59 and counting the extra games that didn't get quite that far it almost totals to 800-1000 hours of mostly active play.

Yeah I had a few addictions, oddly enough i haven't played many games at all this year or last year though, so maybe I'm over it now ^^

The last time I pulled an all-nighter was when Space Quest IV came out. My mom was so pissed when she peaked into my room at nearly 5 in the morning after hearing me pitch a fit. :)

Legends of Wrestling 2. People said it was bad but I thought it was great overall and I wanted to unlock everyone.

Wrestlemania 2000. Awesome game and I wanted to unlock everyone in career mode.
