| I had an epiphany while thinking about this topic, see if you agree with me. I think game addicts, with the "just five more minutes" compulsion, come from being raised on game consoles rather than computer games. Because even though I play computer games, I was raised on NES. In computer games you can always save your progress and start right back where you were, but with Nintendo, in games like Super Mario 3, you had to keep playing (or leave your game system on while you slept) in order to not lose the progress you already made, otherwise, you're screwed and had to start all over again. So now, even though every system now offers the chance to save progress, it doesn't come naturally to us. What do you think? |
