Tattoos anyone?

    		 I have a hummingbird on my left shoulder and a tribal sign on my lower back. I may end up getting another one on my inner ankle..I think they are addictive, you always tell yourself "just one more" :lol:

    		 Ugh. You sound like my gf. She has one on her chest and one on her back and wants more. I hate the things. Everyone says that it makes them unique, but I'm one of the few people I know without one, which seems to make me unique.

    		 well, i want one. i plan to get a giant dragon tattooed on my back, to represent my chinese zodiac/japanese horoscope. i also like dragons which will be present to everyone...i think thats the real thing behind tattoos, representing yourself through body instead of mind. . .

    		 I have a Celtic cross on my left arm with a shamrock in the middle i got when i was 16. I also have a Celtic band around my left calf. They are classy and badass at the same time, or so i like to think...check my profile, i think you can see one.... I love tats, and more power to you if you have one!!!! What was that about not having a lot upstairs, Jason? I think that was a ignorant remark, but, its cool. I am a 1-AA college football player at one of the top 20 liberal arts colleges in the country. I graduated top 10% in high school, and I am doing well in college. I got a 1320 on my SATS. I got both tats in high school. Most people don't understand why those who get tatooes do, and i for one would like to keep it that way....

    		 If you want to give yourself a lable go right ahead, and maybe when you're 35 and you have an ugly indiscernable blotch on yourself that you can't get rid of, the tattoo removal guys won't charge you too much to remove it an give you an even uglier scar. :?

    I, personally, am not into tattoos and piercings. I'm fine with what God gave me, and if I feel that I need to do something with myself, I'll go do something more productive and takes effort like learn a martial art or something.

    Umm, why an "indiscernable blotch"? Tattooes don't become indiscernable blotches, unless they are really cheap. They stay pretty much the same, thats the whole point. Man, you people and your anti-Tattoism.

    I apologize if i sounded like the leader of some anti-whatever movement. I was merely stating (in a really sarcastic way) my reasons for not wanting tattoos. I just think there are better ways to express yourself.

    :) Heck, I still think Fake tattoos are kinda fun. I mean they're not permanent, and you get to dress yourself up for a football game in style, with your teams colors and mascot drawn all over ya. :P

    		 Well the beauty of tattoos really is subjective, so I can understand that some people may view them as unsightly and damaging to the body. But everyone has a different way of expressing themselves or representing their personalities. I don't mind them but I don't understand people that get them all over their bodies or on their faces or heads. That's a little freakish to me :shock: I just think of mine as body accessories and a display of my culture.. and I may just get off on the pain:lol:
    It's also good if you get one in an area that doesn't tend to sag with age.
    It's funny though..I've never seen a senior citizen with a tattoo.

    		 tats can be really gorgeous. but the mainstream of them is just cliche and white trash. taz snarling wolf, rebel flag,etc and have no meaning

    		 I have two: a Celtic band on my right upper forearm and my initials in Gaelic on my left upper arm, both designs based on my family's lineage. My advice to anyone that's considering a tattoo: make sure the design has significance, and for the love of god...make sure it's original. Don't choose a premade design with a reference number. After all, it'll be with you for a VERY long time.

    I guess they would be quite unsightly if there are a few flaps of wrinkled skin hanging over it. I'm strategic about it. I doubt that the upper back, mid lower back, the ankle area ever sag so I should be alright. The less fussy a design, the better.

    I agree..what's the point if there are 20 other people walking around with the same tattoo.

    		 I'm a pretty heavily tattooed gal... and my mom always says to me, "those are gonna look terrible when your 80!" and I say to that, "who's going to be looking at me when I'm 80 and why should I care?"...seriously, though, I love every one of my tattoos, they were all done by a wonderful and highly respected tattoo artist. I only think tattoos are a mistake when someone gets them for the wrong reasons like all of their friends are getting them or because of the novelty. Some of my tattoos are visible and some aren't but all of them have deep meaning and value TO ME. If you're thinking about getting tattoos and worried about what others might think, your best bet is not to get one at all. :idea:

    		 Love me some tats.... Gotta barbed-wire armband on my right upper arm (not very original I know) and above that, a picture of a cat head a very special friend of mine drew... And a Superman logo on my upper left arm.

    Looking to get the Kanji character for the word "Truth" above the Superman logo here in the next month or so... :)

    		 I've got 6 of em. I've got a sun on my back, a yin yang on my ankle, Betty boop on my knee, tribal designs on my thigh and stomach and a frog on my forearm. I am gonna get one more on my lower back of a dragon & Phoenix, then I think I'm done.
    I don't know about you, Miss Kitty, but I feel so much... yummier
