    I was born in 1976 too. It seems like a whole three decades ago that I was a goofy little kid watching cartoons. Now I'm a goofy big kid watching cartoons. ;):D Hell yes on cartoons of the late 70s and early 80s. :)

    		 I was born in '81, so I remember '89 pretty clearly.

    Main memories?

    New Kids On The Block. Even then, I hated 'em...

    The Nintendo NES had recently been launched over here. I wanted one so badly, but I'd have to wait a couple more years.

    Batman - THE biggest thing for me that year. That summer I fell through a window and damaged my right knee pretty badly. As I had nothing else to do, I'd go with my dad as he drove around the country, making deliveries. One day, we went to Pinewood Studios (where Batman was filmed). A friend of my dad's who worked there gave me a guided tour around Gotham... I even got to see the Batmobile! That day's still one of the greatest days of my life... I just wish I'd have taken a camera.

    		 I remember both the Batman movie and the videogame. The videogame on the NES wasn't quite that great, but the movie was epic. I'm surprised Jack Nickelson didn't get anything for playing the Joker.

    Really, to me, the last "80s sounding song" from that decade was "She Drives Me Crazy" by Fine Young Cannibals. If it was released five years earlier it would have fit in perfectly.

    Yeah and we all know what happened after that? The domino affect in which each successing movie went straight down the crapper each time. George Clooney couldn't keep me interested in the Batman franchise.
