80s Nick

If this topic has been done already, you can lock it up. I am sitting here thinking about the pre-NickToons Nickelodeon. I miss the good ol days of Pinwheel, YCDTOTV, David the Gnome, The Noozles, Maya the Bee, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Count Duckula, Danger Mouse, the original Double Dare and all of the awesome shows Nickelodeon used to show back in the 80s. Nick at Nite was better then too with old 50s and 60s sitcoms like Car 54, Where Are You and I Love Lucy. I don't want to offend anyone but I think Nickelodeon went downhill in the 90s when they started making their own shows. But do anyone else remember the 80s Nick shows? (most of the people I know think Nickelodeon started with the NickToons and the likes and no it did not.)

Needless to say not many people were around when Nick first started, or perhaps didn't have cable to watch the channel's first years in operation.

When someone has fond memories of the "classic" Nick from when they were a kid in the 1990s, then it's time to start thinking about that AARP membership.

Isn't there a Petition we can all sign to get the Networks across North America (Canada and Usa) to put back the old Tv shows? I mean this is getting ridiculous with all the crap im seeing these days. I mean, these days all they show now is making a tv show about famous peoples lives. Like the tv show ' Hogan knows best.' Now dont get me wrong, I love The Hulkster. But making a tv show about his life? Now I know in life we should always move forward. But there are some things in life we need to go back and relive th classics that are worthy to bring back.

Whoa Mirco Man that's kind of sad that you only watched Nick in the late 90's. You missed all those great shows in the 80's and early 90's. The only difference I see with Nick in the 80's and 90's is. In the 80's nick was mainly focus on kids Nick only had one showthat had teens on it and that was You can do that on television. And that was it with the exception of Double Dare who had teens maybe once or twice a week. Other then those shows you saw no teens. Nick schedule shows us it was about family back then. Like the logo read in the 80's Nick the first kids network. In the 90's Nick changed it's audience it still was focusing on kids but it brought in the teens also.
Around 89-90 they started to expertiment with it with shows like Hey Dude, Welcome Freshmen, and 15 these shows didn't really catch the eye so Nick dropped them quickly( like within the 1-3yrs . Then in 91 Nick tried it again and found success with Salute your shorts and decided to come out with Snick. Snick lifted Nick up to a new format it was something different for kids to know that you can watch Nick on Saturday nights wow.The Nicktoons added more of a Vesatility for Nick that's why you hear people say from 92-98 that was Nick 's Golden years. Sad to say but that's the years that everyone talks about first or the shows from that era.It should be like that when I talk about Nick I talk about the whole thing not just one era Nick was great and I thank God for it during my childhood and teen years.

To me Nick was great from 80-96.
