Herman Brooks is an aspiring writer working as a fact-checker at a publisher. While dealing with life in the big city, his inner thoughts are played out by four characters representing his intellect, fear, compassion, and lust. His "outer world" consists of a trivia-trove boss, two female co-workers, one mouse-ish and the other a social-climbing bombshell, and a best friend whose both a successful writer and a sexist pig.

This was the one that'd routinely cut to the people inside of his mind, right? I remember one time when he fed a jelly doughnut to a bear at the zoo and killed it. He was guilty for the whole episode.

Even though I was still young when this aired this is one of my favorite shows of all time.

I remember this show. Very original idea. I watched it till it was canceled, but only have vague memories of it anymore.

I had a strange flashback of the show this morning.... it was an episode when herman was on a date, and had a whistle sound comming from his nose. One of the four had to jump in and grab it..... wierd. Man, the 90's were a strange time for telivision.
