Family Feud

Show Summary

Aired: 1976 - Unknown
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

Richard Dawson first hosted this game show in which two families try to guess what the 'surveys said' of polls conducted of 100 average people. Family Feud premiered in 1976 on ABC and ended in 1985, but in 1988 comedian Ray Combs (died June 2, 1996 by hanging suicide) took over on CBS. In 1992, the show was expanded to one hour, included a new "Bullseye" round, and was renamed "The New Family Feud" (or "The Family Feud Challenge"). Combs was fired in 1994 and Dawson was brought back, but his second tenure lasted only one year. Louie Anderson began hosting the show in 1999, during which the theme song and the set was completely revamped. Anderson was fired in 2002 and "Home Improvement" star Richard Karn took over the show but was fired in 2006 to make way for John O'Hurley ("Seinfeld", "Dancing With The Stars"), who will begin hosting in time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the show.

I still like this show, but if you watch reruns on the game show network, you can't get half the answers right because of the time frames. Like what you would think of as an answer nowdays might now have existed in 1977 LOL
