Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior

Show Summary

Aired: 1989 - 1991
Show Type: Animated
Country of Origin: JAPAN

An anime series loosely based on the game Dragon Warrior III. Its english dub by Saban was surprisingly good. It doesn't seem like a hackjob at all heck they even used nicely ochestrated versions of the game's music as well. Unfortunately they never gave Akira Toriyama credit which resulted in a alwsuit that got the show cancelled in the US.

Holy hell, I didn't know they made a cartoon series of Dragon Warrior! They should have done it with Final Fantasy too.

Wow, this was my favorite as a kid, I was totally sucked into the story. I really want to know how it ended, but after episode 12 it would revert back to the beginning. I kept waking up predawn hoping for that last episode, which never came.

I honestly remember the day I discovered this 18 years ago when I woke up early one Saturday morning by accident... and I'm glad I did. I was totally hooked. But the one thing I loved about the series was Mokomoko... he grabbed my attention very fast, because he was so cute and adorable. If it wasn't for him or the series itself, I would not have known about Toriyama's works or his most popular series, Dragon Ball. And certainly I wouldn't have been a fan of Yajirobe (hence my username).

The only thing I can remember is on one episode the main character was training in a lake/lagoon and saw the warrior woman-his teammate-bathing behind some bushes. She began chasing him, I think with her sword. It was so long ago, this is all I remember.
