Spin-Off of the hit comedy "SOAP", "BENSON", the Butler of Jessica Tate helps out her cousin Gene Gatling, who is the Governor of the state. Benson's first escapade lands him into finding a way for a huge company to build their new bridge without killing beavers. His success in this idea seems to land him a "trial offer" for this nee job.

Actually, Benson was a butler on the tv show SOAP, when he was spun off into his own show he started out as head of the governor's household staff, he remained
their for the first season or two, was promoted by the governor to budget director, stayed their for several seasons, towards the end of the series run he was elected Lt. Governor, and by the end of the show, last episodes, he ran for governor. I know trhis because I have the episodes on VHS, aka a dinosaur vehicle.
Hope this one series comes to DVD soon.

Robert Guillaume sang a beautiful rendition of "O Holy Night" on an episode with the cast gathered around the piano. Can anyone tell me what the name of the episode was and which season it was in? It made me a lifelong fan of the song!

Even as I kid, I liked watching Benson. Hilarious stuff!
