A drama series set at an American base during the Vietnam War. Rather than focusing on the battle scenes that made up most other portrayals of the war, this show looked at the everyday lives of the people sent to serve their country. The doctors, nurses, soldiers and even USO entertainers stationed at the base must try to come to terms with the horrors and stresses of the war around them. Not all of them succeed.

I really liked this show, although I was very young at the time to really understand it. My mom loved it. She and my dad went to highschool with one of the cast members, Brian Wimmer (Cpl. Boonie Lanier) in Orem, Ut
I always thought he was good looking!

I don't know much about the show, but i do know that Michael Boatman was among the cast. He would later gain fame on Spin City with Michael J. Fox.

I recently heard Diana Ross's song Reflection's which reminded me of china Beach. I love this show and would watch it every week. I would love to have it on DVD!

My folks would have this on at times, but I never payed any attention to it (since I was only 1 1/2 when it came out). Marg Helgenberger is HOT!
