A hilarious British parody of Star Trek, this series follows the misadventures of the crew of the deep-space mining ship, Red Dwarf. After a severe accident occurs, a beer-guzzling slob named Dave Lister awakens from his cryogenic sleep to find it is three million years later, and he is the last human being alive in the universe. He soon finds a friend in the ships half-witted computer Holly. The computer confesses that he had created a hologram of one of Listers shipmates, one Arnold Rimmer. The group soon finds that Listers pet cat had spawned a litter that, over these three million years, had evolved into a race of beings less concerned with the state of the universe than their own looks and finding shiny things. Cat is the last of this race. Eventually, the ship comes across an android named Kryten, and the rest is history
